Further to our announcement in February, technicallySO is very pleased to now be testing Starlink in areas surrounding Henley-on-Thames!
For everyone that lives or works in villages surrounding Henley but have subpar internet speeds, we are up and running and currently conducting tests to see if the SpaceX Low Earth Orbit satellite constellation (Starlink), can solve your bandwidth issues.
Whilst some areas like Henley on Thames are furnished with ultra fast, full fibre internet connections, surrounding villages have been largely forgotten. The speeds you have now using Fibre To The Cabinet (FTTC) connections are unlikely to be upgraded by the traditional providers. This means businesses and homes will continue to fall behind the leading edge of internet speed technology. Starlink may be the solution and we are the only local provider able to conduct tests at present.
We are incredibly excited to have taken delivery of the equipment and are initiating testing in Bix and Assendon, Nuffield, Stoke Row, Stonor and Russell’s water. technicallySO are beta testing Starlink with the aim of gathering as much information as possible from multiple locations, in each village or area. If this is something that interests your home or business, please get in touch by emailing [email protected] or contact us on the telephone number provided below.
technicallySO is your local IT Service provider and we have a wide range of technical expertise and solutions that we apply to businesses and to the domestic environment in and around Henley.
If you need any help or advice when it comes to your technology, please get in touch. We are here to help.
technicallySO…
technicallySO is very proud to announce that we are one of only a handful of beta testers in the U.K. for the SpaceX Starlink internet connection platform!
Starlink is the world’s most advanced broadband internet system delivered through a network of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites that will eventually cover all corners of the globe at all times.
Whilst some in the U.K. have access to full fibre internet speeds through traditional methods of internet connection, as a nation and over the last few years, we have slipped from 32 to 47 in the global rankings of internet infrastructure and speed availability.
This poses a problem for many companies and households and has recently become much more evident as both working and schooling from home has become a necessity.
Within the town of Henley on Thames, residents and businesses have access to ultrafast internet but there is not currently any availability for those who live outside of town, where residents experience the fringes of poor to passable connection speeds. Many of our customers fall into this category.
The Starlink platform offers a solution to those that have been all but forgotten by the traditional providers such as BT.
Currently Starlink is in its beta testing phase but as the platform matures and more Starlink satellites come online (120 new satellites every month by the summer of 2021) speeds will gradually rise to as much as 10 Gigabytes per second. That’s more than 600 times faster than is currently considered good by rural standards.
As early adopters technicallySO will be investing in multiple Starlink connections with the aim of testing them in all of the local villages surrounding Henley on a regular basis. We will feed this information back to SpaceX but more importantly to all of our local villages and our customers who have suffered in silence for far too long.
If you have any questions, or require further information on when we will be testing Starlink near your homes, you can email us at [email protected], visit this website page for updates or you can visit the site of the clever people who developed the system at starlink.com
If you are able to provide a secure space for us to test, please get in touch by email and we’ll come back to you as soon as we begin scheduling our tests.
